New Foods and Farm Tours Cooperative

By now, many of us have heard of the 100-mile diet. For those who haven’t, it refers to eating foods grown within a 100-mile radius of wherever one lives. In Kamloops, most of the food available on grocery store shelves has traveled much further than 100 miles. You’d think it would cost more to transport food from faraway places than it would to stock locally produced foods. Unfortunately this isn’t the case. (more…)
