Many municipalities in British Columbia dedicate the month of or a specific week in June to cycling. Currently, Kamloops does not promote a Bike Week or Bike Month, but don’t let this stop you from celebrating it. (more…)

The price for a barrel of oil is on the way up. The reasons vary from “supply and demand” to hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico. Whatever the reason, the effects are obviously felt in the price of gas. Less obvious is the effect of oil prices on everything else. (more…)

When I was working to save a particular piece of natural space that I loved, I was told by one of the Kamloops’ city councilors that our city has the largest amount of parkland in relation to any comparable area. He said it as though I should back off and quit trying to save this piece; a sort of “plenty more where that came from” attitude. (more…)
